Amala Akkineni, the wife of King Nagarjuna has been roped in an upcoming film, which is based on the life of former Indian badminton champ and Team India’s head coach Pullela Gopichand, to play the key role. The upcoming biopic of Gopichand has Sudheer Babu in the lead role, which will be directed by Praveen Sattaru of PSV Garuda Fame.
Sudheer Babu is reprising the role of Gopichand in this sport based drama and according to the latest buzz, Amala Akkineni will be seen playing Gopichand’s mother Subbaravamma in this biopic Subbaravamma had played a crucial role in transforming Pullela Gopichand into a champion shuttler. The emotional bond between the mother and son will be portrayed in Gopichand biopic. Amala Akkineni has got a challenging role in this film of Sudheer Babu.
Fox Star Studios and Abundantia Entertainment will jointly produce Amala Paul and Sudheer Babu starrer Gopichand biopic, which will be made in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi.
Earlier in an interview, Sudheer Babu, who is also a badminton player, described the game as his “first girlfriend”.
The upcoming biopic is going to cover the professional as well as personal aspects of Gopichand’s life.
Though the news about the Gopichand biopic broke a long time ago, details regarding the film’s shoot and the remaining cast and crew have not been announced officially yet.
Sudheer Babu is also sharing screen space with Nani, Nivetha Thomas and Aditi Rao Hydari in the film V. Natural Star Nani will be seen playing a role with negative shades, which is directed by Indraganti Mohan Krishna, produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations banner.
On the other side, Amala Akkineni who made re-entry with Sekhar Kammula’ directorial venture Life Is Beautiful took a long break for making his comeback again and currently she is the part of Sharwanand’ new film, which is progressing at the brisk pace in the direction of debutante Shree Karthik.
